On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee and the ICM Executive Committee, I am greatly honored and pleased to invite you to participate in one of major international conferences on mechanical behavior, The 10th International Conference on Mechanical Behavior of Materials, to be held in Busan, Korea, from May 27 to 30, 2007.

Not only the Korean Institute of Metals and Materials,
the organizing institute, but also many of the relevant Korean academic societies such as the Korean Association of the Materials Related Societies and the Korean Society for Mechanical Engineers, etc, are working together to organize the well-known and respected ICM-10 in Korea.

The ICM-10 will be held in May, the most pleasant season in Korea, at BEXCO (Busan Exhibition & Convention Center) in Busan where the "APEC 2005 KOREA" was held very safely and successfully with 21summits, from 21 APEC member countries. It is located in Haeundae beach, the most famous and beautiful beach in Korea, which provides excellent conference facilities, easy access from and to the airport and the various grades of hotels nearby. There will be quite a few local cultural tours offered in different languages to give accompanying persons and participants for a taste of our long history and rich culture.

It is our hope, that the most essential topics to be discussed in 17 sessions in the form of Symposium will draw great attention and interest from academics and engineers all over the world. I am very sure that, participating in this Conference, you will surely find the most recent, valuable and productive knowledge.

Sincerely yours,

The objectives of the International Conference on the Mechanical Behavior of Materials (ICM) are to foster research on the mechanical behavior of materials, to promote related international cooperation among scientists and engineers and to provide means for the public dissemination of the results from these efforts.

The ICM holds international conferences every four years. These conferences are intended to cover progress on all aspects of the mechanical behavior of materials from both the macroscopic and microscopic viewpoints. The scope of materials of interest include both industrial materials, e.g., metals, alloys, polymers, ceramics, composites, and advanced materials under development.

These conferences bring together users, producers and researchers, both engineers and scientists who have a common interest in various aspects of materials behavior. The objective is to facilitate and encourage the exchange of knowledge and experience among different communities involved in using, improving, developing and assessing materials and conducting basic research. The conferences aim to explore the scale integration (micro, meso and macroscopic) behavior as well as an integrated approach to aspects of design, manufacturing and mechanical reliability.
